This Day in Infamous History: Bombing of Hiroshima

On August 6, 1945, sixty five years to date, Japan became the first city in the history of the world to be devastated and attacked by a nuclear bomb.  The bomb was given a very mocking nick name of “Little Boy” to which obliterated the whole of Hiroshima and immediately killed 1/5th of the city’s population (70,000 people).

(The bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki: 65 years ago)
I find this bit of history appalling and never should have been.   Nuclear bombs to me signify the end of human existence.  Imagine, 65 years ago, there were only two of these weapons of mass destruction.  How about now? …………..There is an estimate of 23, 000 nuclear weapons hidden in every corner of the world waiting on a hair trigger alert.  Just one push of a button and then POP! goes the weasel!
65 years of sheer dumb luck that these haven’t been detonated yet and cause the beginning of the end of the world.  I pray that it will not happen in my lifetime and if it does, be it done swiftly.  Let my loved ones die first without suffering the aftermath.
I vote for a Nuclear Free Earth.  Where do you stand?
We are better off without them.
